Ambassador Simons hosted Dr. Wendy Freedman, Dr. Patrick McCarthy (GMTO) and Dr. Miguel Roth (Las Campanas Observatory) at a one-day workshop to introduce GMT to the Chilean Community.
Santiago, Chile - U.S. Ambassador to Chile, Paul Simons, hosted Dr. Wendy Freedman, GMTO Chair and Director of Carnegie Observatories, and Dr. Patrick McCarthy, Director of the Giant Magellan Telescope during their visit to Chile to introduce the Giant Magellan Telescope project to the astronomical community in Chile.
